Dunseith Gardens

Dunseith Gardens
38 North Street at Route 6, Mattapoisett

Home of the iconic roadside sculpture of Salty the Seahorse, the 3.5 acre property is owned and maintained by the Mattapoisett Land Trust. The park has a playground, nature trail, picnic area, and flower gardens. Originally it was the location of the home and gift shop of Henry Dunseith, with its giant seahorse luring shoppers off the old route to Cape Cod. It was willed to the Land Trust in 1988. The park property has been improved by volunteers from the Mattapoisett Womens Club, the local Boy Scout troop, and other members of the community.
